ENGLISH How do we prepare ourselves for the destiny of God in our lives today? Do we dig in and wait the corona virus out, or do we use the opportunity for good? Remember, the world is still not coming to an end.
THIS IS A MESSAGE TO CHRISTIANS IN COUNTRIES AND TERRITORIES ON LOCKDOWN ONLY.
Please listen to your governments.
This is why.
There’s a reason why the steering wheel is NOT mounted in the back. Although your mother-in-law often seems to believe differently, she does not have the best view from the back seat.
The same applies to the situation at hand, with ever more countries being put on lockdown due to the corona virus, the Covid-19.
Although in hindsight we may find that not all decisions and actions made by our governments were optimal, we must believe that our governments are trying their best, given the knowledge and resources at hand.
Listen to Paul’s words to Titus regarding our governments. Those words were uttered during times of life and death persecution against Christians, and still Paul could not help but instil them in us. He was ushered forward by The Holy Spirit.
“Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good.” (Tit 3:1 NIV)
If you’re of the skeptical kind who doesn’t quite believe in your own government, please consider one thing still.
Do you really think your government would give its taxpayers over to crumbling death if it in any way could stop it?
Now, it’s still down to you and me. On a personal level, what President Harry S. Truman said does indeed apply to us today, too.
“The buck stops here!”
The buck does indeed stop with us – true believers alive and serving today. In the end the only thing we can do now is preparing ourselves, not running away while screaming.
We already witness many a Christian raising up in virtual media. We already witness many a new virtual network coming alive with the help of modern technology. We already witness that church is indeed not dependent of its large buildings and rigid structures.
You can be church, too, from your living room.
While hunkering down, we can prepare spiritually, physically and intellectually. We are all responsible for our own relationship with God.
How will we respond when the Lord one day calls out our name?
That I hid in a cellar because the corona virus was the punishment of God. Or, that I played the hand I was dealt, asked the Lord for guidance and built His Kingdom even from my very own home.
It’s up to you. And me.
Not ‘the others’.
Remember, all is well in Christ.
